Don't like place betting on here , so had a few e/w punts on the CES. last Saturday.
Had £191 to collect from a fiver e/w on the winner & second.
Went to collect today.
Woman behind the counter couldn't pay me as not enough in the 2 tills & her manager had 'nipped out'. Said it could be collected at another branch.
Drove to other branch at other end of village. Because it was over £100 I to wait again as she had to phone first shop to verify.
Hardly asking for 5 grand on the spot is it ?
Adios to High Street bookies for me. It's not the 1970's anymore , the customer does not have to put up with nonsense like this. Not the staff to blame ,the jokers they work for.
The only shop I use is Ladbrokes. Two of their staff are knowledgeable racing enthusiasts. The others are thick as mince but 2 good employees is 2 more than any other shop I visit.

btfred is on the lower high st and the top of the high st but both shops aren't great.
And the Hills by Laddies is a no go area for me. I had a big win on Albertas run in the ryanair last year. Backed at 33/1 4 weeks before the race. I went to collect my winnings and was paid out at SP! I explained I had taken a price ( which was signed by a member of staff.... it took a good 5 mins of my explaining to get the chimp to understand! I then returned an hour later to be told to come back in 2 days for the money!

The people in my local Baldies could tell you how to dismantle and assemble a FOBT machine but wouldn't have a scooby about whether cheltenham was a virtual or real racecourse.
