I don't think it's 'thinly dressed up' I think he did say that
"I don't care for the real professional, who knows more about the little races than we do, and every horse they back goes off at half the odds they are taking. But the everyday punter should be able to get 50 quid, 100 quid on the big races without difficulty. |

But the recreational punter on a saturday who follows a tipping service or pricewise is lumped in there to, as inverably the horses shorten.

the comment from Will Hayler to which I refered...
"I dispute your comment that journalists are offered "great bets" etc. My bets are placed over the phone or the web, just like yours or anyone else's. I've also had numerous accounts closed down and/or restricted. When Hills were offering 3-1 on Cue Card on the first day of the Festival when the best price was 9-4 elsewhere, I asked for fifty pounds and was offered a pathetic three. I wrote exactly as much on the Talking Horses blog at the time. Was that bum-licking? However, I knew that if I could have been bothered to go to a shop, I could have had up to 100 on for the two or three hours that price was available." ![]() |
