On a non trier will just have to administer 7 early in the race and just go hands and heels for the rest of the race .  Perfect excuse .

Unfortunately it is just like the traffic laws , easy to generate revenue by having unrealistic criteria .

How much money has been raised in the last year by penalising non triers .  Minimal . Proves there were no non triers , or does it ....?

Most sports people like a good buckle whether its coursing , football , horse racing , tennis , cricket , boxing . Anything which limits the possibility of a good buckle by my definition is not good for the sport .  New whip rules limit the possibilities for a jockey trying to win , need a rethink , and forget about the so called do gooders , they dont contribute to racing in any shape or manner . No one wants to see horses abused , and the old rules were perfectly adequate in that respect .  If it aint broke , dont fix it .

Present situation seems to me to be the result of a few high profile incidents .  There were better ways to deal with those incidents and to make sure they were not repeated .  But it requires gumption to spell out those ways and means , fining jockeys for trying too hard not the best way forward .

Punters who are part of the essential lifeblood of racing in these isles will vote with abstentionist feet if some of the farces of the last few days continue to mount .  The penalties for the jockeys are unbelievably punitive , imagine someone being banned from working for 15 days because they drove into work at 80 instead of 70 . Different I know , but still ...

As for 7 hits in a 3 mile chase on a dodgepot  , I might as well be on the horse as a proper jockey . Cant believe the NH boys have not held up their hands yet .
