A gentleman every time I've met him on and off the racecourse.

I know some on here have their views on Richard....mostly centred around the ride on Home Affairs at Epsom but this guy is one of my all time heroes in British Horseracing. So proud of what he's achieved the last few seasons that's gone a long way to quieten the smart alecs on here.

Not surprised by his decision to stand up against one of the MOST STUPID IDOTIC BRAINLESS and RETARDED laws ever introduced in our beautiful sport.

wd RH and I wish more jockeys would follow suit.

Put it this way...I'd rather bet at Penn National and Mountaineer than bet in the UK at the moment....such is the shocking state of racing with this new whip rule.

I agree with Gooner,RH is one of the best out there.

Next week I'm going racing and I'm going to ask the jock before the race to whip me 5 times with his cushion whip on my arse,,,,then I will post the pictures after the race!!!!

Can't be worse than getting beaten at school in the 60's with a cane

am i missing something? can't find the racing post special feature on hughes's career in the saddle. will have to look forward to the 16-page pullout in today's edition instead.

glad this momentous event is being taken seriously.

I presume he will be riding in Ireland next year, the first and probably not the last.

Leave it at that.
