don't know about skibbereen, thought tralee had closed

sry didn't see borneos post

thanks borneo (and everyone else). I know 11kv, you wouldn't think Ireland could take 232 p2p courses would you.
So any course outside the main list - would that always be p2p or are there sort of local flat courses. AS for the Irish p2p, do they have their own governing body or are they part of the mainland UK lot? ta |
By:
you have to be fishing?
By:
That list is correct.
By:
Why does everyone think I'm fishing when I ask questions!?
The reason for my question is that the racing post db (which I'm backing up for them just in case anything should happen... your worship) has a list of courses (even if closed down) and sometimes the name is followed by p-t-p, so I assumed that if it didn't have p-t-p after the name it wasn't a p-t-p course. My assumption was wrong... so now I have to sort out which are "proper" courses are which aren't. Just need to know if there are any "improper" flat courses or if they are all p2p. |
By:
i was asking about fishing re the governing bodies, not what type of courses they are
By:
Your MAIN list is DEFINITIVE.
Anything else is P-T_P Don't think the Racing Post include the Flat Flapping tracks, though. ![]() |
By:
oh. was that a stupid question then? sorry, I didn't realise.
By:
here I go with another stupid question... what is a "flat flapping track"? If you can name one, I'll have a look for you.
By:
i have the feeling my chain is being yanked
By:
why elise? It's all to do with Racing Post course codes and the lack of a p-t-p field! If they put p-t-p after ALL relevant course names it would make life a lot easier! You can check this out for yourself - go to Rp and search for an Irish ptp course then right click on the page and click "View Source" .... look at the heading at the top and you'll see what a I mean! |

its a miracle you were able to find the "on" button on your pc

In answer to your flapping question,Ballintaggart Racecourse(Dingle)hosts the premier flap in the British Isles.
Also if you are including flapping tracks then also the Harness racing tracks may have been included in the number. |

There is no tie up between the U.K points & the Irish points. Both countries have their own rules.
Irish pointing is run on a more professional manner due to the end product & support the points in Ireland receive.Whilst in Ireland probably the majority of horses are running there with the main aim of putting value on them for future sale where as in the U.K. there's less of an emphasis on this as a lot of the horses are kept for fun. |
By:
Bit strong allpoints - surely replace 'professional' with 'commercial'. The crowd numbers alone required serious organisation in the UK. I know you are a pointing man - do you really think theyre going to impose these whip rules in pts? How exactly and moreover, 50% need a tap to go round the last circuit let alone finish.
By:
Yer ma
If the new whip rules are imposed in British points there will be a lot of races with no finishers. |
By:
sorry to be stupid again - but why are some courses called "flapping".
thanks |

Yer Ma
Do you come from Dingle with that user name?Cracking name if you do. As for the whip rule as I understand it,the stewards have been told that it's exactly the same for pointing as under rules. How on earth can they implement it without video evedence & seeing as most tracks refuse to look at video evidence especially in close finishers there's noway they can prove it? Half the tracks you miss a fair bit of the racing no matter where you stand & come May when the leaves are on the trees it's virtually impossible to see right round at most of the tracks. Can you imagine what will happen? They'll pick on the kids from the small stables but you can bet your life those riding for the bigger stables will be able to do what they want.Nothing ever changes. As for giving jocks a whip in pointing they should be given a choice. They should have the choice of a whip or a fencing post because as you say half of them wont go round unless they get a good crack. Having said that I have in the past had a quiet word with stewards when I've seen horses getting the whip needlessly ie.knocking the ar se off them to get fourth etc.People doing this want warning off. |

put dingle 2011 into you tube

your ma died 2 weeks after winning the dingle derby allpoints

never give up
Sorry to here that. When I found out it was a Dingle horse I was over the moon for them.It must have been a gut wrencher to lose that one. Still no one can take it's win off them & it will remembered in folk lore(if that's the correct way to describe it)for a long time down there. A Dingle horse winning Dingle that must be akin to other people winning the Derby. |
