people come on these forums taking the moral high ground on the whip and horse cruelty but 95% of hardcore gamblers couldnt careless.  if a jockey hit the horse you backed 20 times to win you 5K and it won by a neck you would be ecstatic.  if you were on the 2nd in that race and you lost 5K by a neck and the jockey only used the whip 3 times you would be absolutely seething.  face it guys, we all talk through our pockets

FFS sake whos taking the moral high ground ? Every punter wants a fair crack of the whip - pun intended. Rules are bull - full stop. It's never been a level playing field but less so now. Punters have a right to seethe if they think that a horse didn't achieve a best possible ride which they won't get under new rules with jocks sh1tting themselves in case of bans etc etc.

You seem to forget Diktat that when we all started gambling we knew the rules and bet accordingly. Now, suddenly and with no consultation an unknown unelected body comes along and changes the rules we bet by. And, worst of all, these rules are a 'cheat's charter' and definately not beneficial to the punter.

That is why many of us are not happy. Nothing at all about being a hypocrite.

I've spent a large proportion of my life around racehorses and personally feel blinkers are much more harmful than the whip. And therefore if the whip was banned many more horses would be wearing blinkers.
