Would be quite a newsworthy protest gesture, if they could all agree to throw their whips down/ up in the air as they hit the 1 f marker

I thought Richard Evans, on the winner - went for, and administered, a 6th strike, practically on the post, as the cavalry came up the outside.

Maybe the first one was just outside the final furlong - but it was a short final furlong, if that was the case.

We did not get a head-on replay, though.

He said to connections later that he had wanted to give it nother couple of smacks but....
