ok cheers,it only gives the back place sp though guess i will just have to add a point on and take that as the lay as a rough guide, not decided what my max lay will be yet, will be around 6-1 at a guess, here are todays selections:
13th oct brighton 3.00 savior sand 4.00 methayel 4.30 buxton 5.00 magical speedfit wincanton 2.20 moving wings 2.50 foreign king 3.20 falcon flight 3.50 lavenoak lad 4.20 dragons den uttoxeter 3.10 nautical approach 4.10 always bold 4.40 red kingdom 17.10 ebony diamond kempton 20.50 ballina blue a lot of them are high prices but not all, lets see how it goes |
By:
The back PLACE odds shown on TF site at BFSP include the 1....
By:
yes but i want the lay place odds, sometimes there can be quite a big difference between back and lay on place markets due to them being so weak, i think maybe 4 or 5 of the ones i have put up today will be a bet, going past results i have found this system too be excellent with short price horses i.e under evens for the place although they dont spring up to often.
By:
The BFSP is the price that SP bets are settled whether they are Back or Lay - are they not?
By:
im not sure about that, never used sp, not looked at it, if thats the case makes it a lot easier to work out what would have been a bet and what would not have
By:
The BFSP is definitely the settled price for all bets - Back or Lay.
I use them to research many a system, including a number on the Place market. But never found anything that offered any returns decent enough to justiy the time I would spend executing them, that is if they made any money at all. |
By:
ok thanks lets see how mine get on today then, from the limited research i have done it works well, watch them all place today now.ha
By:
Blimey, bagnall - If you did not already know that - or had not even sussed it - the clue being SP .... it don't augur too well for the rest of your research.

By:
i know onlooker very poor on my part, feel free to hurl abuse when it looks like a crock of s**t later
By:
bagnall - I have probably done you a favour.
The reverse scenario is probably more likely, now. ![]() |
By:
Mr 82-I totally agree with one of your lay selections but have no opinion on any of the others.

Pos (draw) Dist Horse Age Weight Eqp
Jockey Trainer In-play price SPs and Advantage High Low BSP ISP +/− Place 1 Merigo (FR) 7 10-0 Timmy Murphy Andrew Parker 8.60 - 8.46 7.50 9% 2.42 If you layed above one, as shown on TF results .......the odds would have been 1.42-1 in PLACE market. The 1 is always shown on ALL the above odds shown on TF site......ISP shown as 7 is 6-1 etc etc |
By:
thanks ppl, the first one was unplaced, but think the price would have been too big to be a selection
By:
The first one was 28/1 industry SP -
8.69 PLACE SP on Betfair - in the lowest possible grade Handicap Hurdle. Your second one was industry SP 18/1 ------------------------------------- Doubt you will have many 'following you in' at those prices. You only need one to 'creep into the frame' at those prices - which can easily happen in this type of low grade racing ... a 100/1 shot PLACED in the first at Uttoxeter - and it will swipe ALL of any profit you have built up. |
By:
Pity they don't have a market on - 'Which horses will be non-runners'
You've found 3 already. ![]() |
By:
i realise this, im just putting up all the selections for now, if you look at the rest there are at least 4 that will be small odds
By:
noticed that im picking a lot of N/R
By:
3.50 lavenoak lad should be a more interesting selection

I place lay... the odds on win lay just aren't worth it when you move outside the top 3 in the betting.
It can be hard getting decent amounts on when you move outside the top 50% favs... A strategy that works for me is to take the number of betfair places + 2 and just rate that number of horses (in odds order). They can't all place can they!? ![]() |
By:
I would really like to see the IR prices published in the place market, not just the win market on TF
