Sir Michael Stoute's yard is 0-15 in past 14 days, but that includes 4 seconds and 2 thirds. IS that enough to swerve his runners? I backed Ruscello yesterday, but I think that one just got beaten by a much better horse on the day.

Samuel Pickwick is on my shortlist for the 19.40 conditions race at Kempton tonight, but the lack of winners puts me off. Am I right to be concerned, or is it only a matter  of time before one goes in?

I would not touch any Stoute runners with a barge-pole at the minute.

Given the ammunition he has the occasional winner cannot hide the fact that 90% of his horses are running below their Official Ratings and if you watch them closely many are not seeing races out...

Whatever the problem is it has affected the yard since early summer and too many are 5% or more below par....

This time of year is hard enough with many yards looking at handicap marks for next year and/or at the sales - so to back horses from a yard that is clearly struggling seems to me to be throwing money away...

However, EVERY CLOUD HAS A SILVER LINING - Stoute is too good to be down for too long and as a result of this bad patch he is going to have some SERIOUSLY WELL HANDICAPPED HORSES - next Spring/ early Summer...for sure!

Note to her majesty:

Send the horsebox round and get Carlton House out of there asap...

Derby was a mistake, Ireland was a catastrophe, missing trhe juddmonte confusing and missing Ascot this weekend a cxck up...

Not qualified, I assumne, for BC Turf and presumably not going to HK or Jp OR Dubai in the spring
