Ive been putting bets on in shops for my mate for about last 3 or 4 weeks and havent had a problem getting on until today when i went into a Stan James office and asked for a price for WIZZ KID in saurdays sprint stakes at Ascot and was told 14/1 so i asked if i could have £500 each way at that price? The manager said i"ll have to ring up to find out which isnt a problem as i understand he has to get it verified? He came off the phone and rather embarrassingly said You can have £50 each way and the price is now 11/1? so me being a bit naive said ok i"ll have £50 each way at 14/1 and then go somewhere else to try and get the rest on? He said "No the price is 11/1 now" so can someone please explain to me where the 14/1 that was advertised went? was it non existent?
I walked round the corner and got the full amount on with HILLS at 12/1

Can they cut a price just because someone enquired about it? Without taking any money for it?

Basically they can do or lay to whoever they want. Its called " having you by the balls" unless you are a female when its " having you by the minge"

A request of £50 E/W would have resulted in no problems at the price (then repeat in different Shops).
You live (and in your case, hopefully) learn.

The days of bookmakers like Freddy Williams are long gone, bookmakers are now just accountants, making sure they balance
the books on a day to day basis.
