Tracklines

Watching racing from Australia , I was struck by how helpful it was to have clear white lines marked on the track showing e.g.300 yds, 200 , 100 yds to the finish.
Would it not be a good idea to have something similar -modified if necessary-in Britain & Ireland . They stand out much more than the poles do and would be a major help to IR backers .
They would also help jockeys -especially now as Frankie Dettori pointed out -you have to know whether you're just outside or inside the final furlong.
