i am not as experienced as many on here but rewilding would not have beat so you think if frankie adhered to the rules.24 hits in the last 2 furlongs is indefensible.the ruling as i understand it now is 7 whip actions in the final furlong but does this include taps on the shoulder just to straighten

No - Richard Hughes got banned for one 'tap on the shoulder' today..
You cannot say the Rewilding would not have beat So You Think. The rule, obviously, was not in place then - and So You Think hardly only received 7 'love taps', too. |

I seem to remember everybody - including the Fat Mouth of Big Brother fame - eulogising as to what wonderful win it was, and what atremendous ride it was by Frankie.
Nobody as much as batted an eyelid, or even remotely thought about the whip, until the AMATEUR Stewards dusted off their rule book. |

Moore might not have hit SYT as many times as Frankie but he was much more forceful with his whip than Frankie in fact Dettori's were only mere taps, so there is an argument to say for every one tap from Moore it was worth two of Frankies one, Moore I think hit SYT 12 times.

You give an opinion and you're a nob?, the fact is I watched the video many times which is why I came to my conclusion, another example if Richard Hills hit his horse 10 times but Fallon only hit his 5 times which jockey would have been more harsh on his mount?, we all know Hills uses his whip within the rules Fallon has a borderline over the shoulder action that comes down much more forcefully.

We can't have jockeys pushing others out of the saddle for example. You think that should happen? The hetero argument is laughable. Somehow hitting a horse and being able to watch it makes you a tough guy. |

Ban a Ferarri driver for the same offence.He hires a driver or takes a cab to work for the same period with no worries about lost wages? The difference is that jockeys like young Fox dont have the luxury of being minted like Hughes for example. These rules are like speed cameras,indiscriminate.One driver earns £300 per week the other £3k per week,who suffers most? Is it fair to have a one size fits all? |

Yes the rules also state the jockey must take all measures to obtain the best possible placing but that is a far too one dimensional and simplistic way of looking at it and why don't they throw the weights away from the saddle then if that helps obtain the best possible placing? The obvious answer to that is because it's against the rules but then again so is 20 odd slaps with the whip but one you get disqualified for and the other you don't. I love the way too how as soon as you make any comment based on the actual rules regarding the use of the whip that that somehow makes you some kind of tree hugging pinko. If I back a horse in a race and my jockey sticks to the rules and is beaten but the other jockey breaks the rules to win but keeps the race then what's the point of my jockey sticking to the rules and more importantly what's the point of having the rule in the first place if you still benefit by breaking it? I used this analogy the last time that particular race was the topic of debate but to let the result stand is the football equivalent of a centre foreword in football punching the ball into the net and the referee lets the goal stand but sends the player off. |

the bha are being lazy.how can you say that all horses are the same.why not give them a whip rating as well.ive been thinking about this all day on and off.there is corruption in any sport thats for sure.all this rule does is make it harder to detect,if your horse is running in a £100,000 race tell the jockey to win and if he gets banned slip him the money cash for lost rides etc. this whip rule is totally open to corruption.take for example frankel on saturday 1-3 looks a very good price now.
