Doncaster, 23 February 2011
Following a report from the Veterinary Officer that in his opinion COOL MISSION (IRE), placed second, had been wealed as a result of the rider’s use of the whip, the Stewards called Jason Maguire, the rider, and Donald McCain, the trainer, before them. After hearing their evidence and viewing the video recording of the race, the Stewards found the rider in breach of Schedule (B)6 Part 2 in that he had used his whip from the fourth-last fence with excessive frequency and causing minor weals. They suspended him for seven days as follows: Wednesday 9 March to Tuesday 15 March 2011 inclusive. The Stewards called before them Richard Johnson, the rider of the winner, BESHABAR (IRE), and enquired into his use of the whip from the fourth-last fence. Having heard his evidence and viewed the video recording of the race, the Stewards found the rider in breach of Schedule (B)6 Part 2 in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency. They suspended him for one day as follows: Wednesday 9 March 2011. |
