As som1 else started a topic on who will challange Long Run over 3m+ can anyone think of a serious challanger to this beast of horse in the 2m+ division me as of right now i cant think of any who will threaten to give him a goin over looks in a total class of his own and with Menhora and Peddelers Cross going chasing it looks like only a novice from last season could be the only real challanger but who could that be but i am going for an unbeating season for the SUPER FLY Cool also the other MASSIVE plus could be the new whip rules as he seems to have the best cruising speed on any jumps horse that i have seen in my life so far as was looking back at a few vids of his wins last season and he comes to win each race with so much ease its untrue could even win with no whip Grin

Spirit son looks a horse to follow. He could give Hurricane something to think about.

Report micklane81 • October 10, 2011 7:49 PM BST
the best since istabraq this lad is free money

Was thinking the same micklane wen looking back at his every race last season I don't think it had even 1 hard race bar the champion but only because he raced so free at the start but still saw off p cross with the rest well back and every other race was like a school can't wait for the 20th November :-)

I was privileged enough to see this true champion win the CH last year cant see anything coming from the novices to challange the Fly this season so if he lines up he wins, can see him remaining unbeaten this season and will bet him accordingly.

He's an absolute BEAUT and cld very well win another two CHs... great gears and great phusique

Rather sorry he's a gelding as wld have liked to see him producing a few heirs in a few yrs time...

Certainly will be my first bet for the Festival lucky 15

He doesn't seem to need to worry about other horses, it's just his own well being. He's missed 2 of the last 3 festivals due to injuries - definitely not the easiest of horses to keep sound.

theres only spirit son who can get near the champ ..

People said Binocular was ' the best since Istabraq ' when he won the champion.
Report Arklearkle • October 11, 2011 6:40 PM BST
Mr Eb I dont think the people in W Mulls stable thought that. Of course you are correct in that we hear it every year about one or two different horses. Ruby in my mind is the best but I believe he rode a crazy race in the Champion Hurdle yet the horse won. He had him in and out, slow and fast, and all over the place yet he was still able to accelerate at the end. If he gets to Chelt fit and right it is his.

bino was never as consistant as HF!!

HF IS the best since istabraq, just look at the season hes had!
Report blackballed1 • October 11, 2011 7:15 PM BST
Binoc never fully convinced me he would through an odd race in hear and there but Hurricane Flys consistency is up there with Big Bucks and looks a horse u can trust 100% to run his race and the ease he won each race with is frightening and had my 1st nibble on him today for champ hurdle don't usually back anti post but I am with him this year as can see him being even money at best on the day and by then hope to have least £300 on him by then and top up on the day long live the SUPER FLY
Report Somerset_Moan • October 11, 2011 9:25 PM BST
HF's last Punchestown win was pretty special
Report Arklearkle • October 11, 2011 9:39 PM BST
I backed him last year closer to the day but had a big ante-post on him in October/November two years ago and you know what happened and he did not make it to Chelters the year befoe either. But he is a class act with pace, hurdles well, stays at least 2 1/2 miles, ground seems not to matter and has the finishing kick of a class flat racer. He hardly ever runs a bad race apart from when he got injured two years ago. Ruby calls him a machine and he does not say that about many of them.

Very true Somerset the amount of ground he makes up on binoc and Menhora between the last 3-2 without breaking sweat is just awesome and was a joy to watch plus I know this fella ain't had the best of times on the injury front but after getting a clear season in last year without probs I am a bit more confident this time and with luck laddys might do wot they did last year and start goin non runner no bet from Xmas :-)

@blackballed...

He's the closest thing in Ireland to Big Bucks atm... mind you, there is NOTHING in Europe that can touch BB at 3miles... now THAT is an effing MACHINE - won 3/4 MILLION over hurdles since it fell at the last in the hennessey!!!!
Report Somerset_Moan • October 12, 2011 12:06 AM BST
By which I mean reliability and utter certainty it will deliver... ignore the distance differences... HF this yr shld be backed without compunctions... I will be starting with a 100 quid pot and backing the lot on HF and BB every time they run - I reckon it'll be worth 3000 by the end of the season... 30/1 - cannot be bad
