I think it would be wrong to underestimate the role that the man they call "Stopper" plays in the whole operation.
By:
Princesse i love it that man stopper......bet he's on big bucks.
![]() |
By:
no rubys on big bucks
By:
Low strike rate but does the job and rides to instructions IMO.
Ruby is on big bucks but so is Stopper - the latter probably on a hefty retainer. |
By:
Those bad horses keep hundreds of people in jobs lads, whatever you think of the man mc manus he should be applauded for keeping hundreds in work.
By:
Don't disagree with you Roo but I presume McManus isn't running horses to keep people in jobs etc. if he is then he's doing a great job, though could possibly buy a few more and send some to a Scottish trainer as don't think he has any up there, or one in the North East of England or NI.
By:
haslam has a few but racing so poor up norfth its hard to watch
By:
they should do alot better than they do,weather your keeping people in jobs or not ,prize money is available - it should be like coolmore/nicholls/martin pipe given the backing - its not first class operation.
By:
Prize money is not how this outfit makes money.
By:
even if it isnt - the prize money is still available - free to whoever wins it - so it just makes good business sense to maximise that take with a first class operation.
think its the dawn run bond, that stops akward questions being asked |

My understanding is that when JP buys a horse he leaves it with the trainer which is good. Watch an NH race in UK or Ire and 50% of the time it has one of his runners. If he shut shop in the morning it would have devastating consequences. Very few, if any, businesses are set up to give employment to be fair. I find it impossible to follow Johnjo's horses. I would hardly ever back them but I lay some of them and I do get it wrong sometimes as you can imagine. We never hear much from JP and when we do it is never bullsh1t like we get from many others.
By:
the prizmoney like 986 pound to the winner of a novice hurdle at stratford hardly seems worth trying for!
when exchanges and spread betting can make u a profit not to be involved in the finish [;)] |
By:
do you really believe jonjo or jp sit at home laying on here, because its better than tyhe prize money,
By:
over 60 people involved in jps financial team [;)]

By:
you post some right bollx, total clueless fantasist
By:
I love guys paranoia on here
JP McManus has made his money, he enjoys racing. Messing with horses in fontwell or the likes is hardly going to make him tick at this stage. |

No Cuthill no connections are quite that stupid.A couple of grand prize money is irrelevant up against what can be made by not winning and then winning a later race.
By:
Fearless and i love the naivety of some on here. They must have gooseberry bush as place of birth on their passport.Open your eyes...watch the pre race markets then see how they run.
By:
look dont be bitta ,angry - you dont know jp does this - youre just making wild assumptions,do you enjoy racing or betfair, well concentrate on the parts you enjoy, and get the most from them, and stop worrying about what ifs.

tortono - if i was a tissue maker for the big 4 ,i would find a horse in the race that as a hidden dislike for that days race conditions ,and make it fav,why make the horse i really believe could win fav,its just letting all the punters know this is a good one.so as the race time approaches the strenght of the market and the combined knowledge of the masses ,suss that the fav cant win - so it drifts, then looses.the drift is the bookies doing,as they made it false fav.
so just because horses drift and loose ,it just means alot of people other than you can read the form better than can. |
By:
its cuth by the way,you joined 02 ,surprised you dont know that, were you the cleaner and have worked your way up.
By:
Does not work like that Chill but anyway good luck with your punting. If you think everything is snow white. The best thing to do is study form on the basis that most horses are trying. You may find that is the quickest way to the poor house.
By:
By the way its Toronto.
Thanks for the lesson.I will print your last post and frame it in my office. |

We have already agreed that JP knows what he is doing, financially or otherwise, so who would he send a horse to a Scottish trainer etc.
Somerset will be the centre of Jumping for a long time, with Gloucester 2nd , Berkshire 3rd, the rest have pulled up or fallen. No point in sending them to back end of no_where with trainers who still think sheep are the local leisure centre. |
By:
i know its not,
in golfing terms i ve redefined my swing,i had to learn a complete new way of reading the form, but theirs no short cut,and sometimes studying form dosent work, but i dont know a easier way of finding a winner, last week i got a treble up ,one of the winners was courageous at chester(ryan sprinter)it had 6 000 next to its name,it had run 60 times, whilst studying for the ayr gold cup,i noticed its dad and mum had both won at chester, yet he d never run there,so when i saw it entered at chester ,i didnt even need to check the other runners, now i ve tried to pick winners on the cheap, watching betting/getting tips/following tipsters, all fail - but we do what we know works - and i know if i look at the form the easier it is to find the winner. |
By:
Good luck i think you may need it
By:
you think you know ,but i know that studying the form gets me the winner - i dont think its snow white,it just must be ,or how else do i pick winners,
or at the very least, its straight enough to find winners ,which in turn means your negative arguement is null and void,i can prove its straight - i woerked out the form that they ran to,youtr just guessing its iffy cos you arent clever enough to see the bigger picture |
By:
OK if you think that works good luck.
By:
it does work - how else do i select a winner, its hard to get a winner in every race, the form isnt clear enough,i ve not looked hard enough,i look to myself first to eliminate problems,
your bog standard de-fault setting is - its b ent, well my proof it isnt is my last winning selection - can you offer better proof than that, you cant. |

Then you should soon be a very rich man Chill.
