Bauer ran a blinder over inadequate 12f, coming off the pace in a slowly-run affair, and running wide down the outside. Geelong Cup next, I imagine, to try and qualify him for the MC.

She looked like being  beaten last time, turning in,  at Doomben -

But then he pressed the button, and she soon went past Hay List, for the second race running.

Both races - 1m.08.8 secs and 1m.08.7 secs.

1.12 is prob fair but i can't be a backer so i'll take it on for small damage

impressive as ever.

btw my MC pick from a while back at a big price is Midas Touch. will let you guys do your own reserach on his new owner, trainer and races so far in oz.

Will be interesting to see Lion Tamer again in the next.

Caulfield Guineas should be interesting. All fancied Helmet to turn that form around with Smart Missile and Manawuni. dont know if I'll still be awake by then.

elg, works something like this-

Most bookies in Aussie pay out on best tote or best tote plus a few %.  The Tabs obviously don't like that.  Tatts/Unitab only have to pay out a certain % over the course of a year, usually they're under it so to bump up their payout and meet requirements, they overpay on high profile short priced favs.  They still pay out the same amount over a year, but this way they get to enjoy stuffing the bookies who have to pay out best tote, in this case $1.20.

Been going on for a couple of years now, rather humourous little war to watch.

Bauer's aussie owner said before the race its the fittest the horse has been in 3 yrs, hence why he hasnt had many starts last few years.
