10 years no tax, hate to agree with saville, but racing has been the loser.
levy 2001 £73M levy 2011 £60M levy 1995 £50M levy 2005 £105M doubled in 10 years. |

The £105 m was a one off barry due to high rolling losers according to ladbrokes and hills.

What has happened to the high rollers. Will they ever return, are they all playing on betfair.
By:
pick any 1, gone skint, using exchanges, playing other sports, hard to get lumpy bets on suspect races,
By:
Bookmakers will always accomodate high rollers once they have proven themselves as prolific losers

Paint this picture any colour you like!... The problem remains... If the bet fair layers not backers!.. Paid levy at the same rate as the licensed layers,we wouldn't be in this mess!

So in a 2 horse race backing 1 dont you become a layer of the tother? Or in any no of runners backing 1 you become a layer of the rest of the field surely?? |
By:
Doesn't matter either way ... Just pay the levy
By:
geoff m, this has been explained numerous times on here,
SOMEBODY HAS TO BE A LAYER you cant all be cowboys, some of you have to be indians, otherwise there aint a game |
By:
Absolutely.. There is always a layer ,no matter what, and if you want horse racing subsidized by the levy ,then the layers should pay the levy!.....
