Champion Jockey and takes time off as and when he pleases but

if every time he makes an appearance he knocks in a double or

treble it wont be long before he is bang in the mix.

he knows what happened last season.
he had a long hard season and as soon as it looked like he might win the title, the stewards stepped in to help hanagan.

look at this season.
as soon as de sousa rides a 4 timer the stewards step in to help hanagan.

outpost, De Sousa deserved a ban, whether 4 days was too much is debatable

hi wee eck,i was just thinking the same,if he had taken it a bit more seriously earlier he would have been right in it but realistically way too far back now although looking at next season surely these ridiculous new whip rules will suit hughes more than most.

Correct Rib.

Hughes is by far the best horseman riding on the flat.

ribero, I think next year I will be on Hughes as my main bet.  It seems that the two Hannons

are like a pair of Magicians they can produce winners at will. Really uncanny.

wee eck, hughsie said in his column end of last year, title chase, never again.

currently best jockey riding imo

wish he had ridden sea moon.

barry, I agree, reminds me of Scobie Breasley who when he came with what looked

like a winning run invariably did win.

hi loper, always really liked hughes, agree and i enjoy watching hughes more than anyone, also think he will make a pretty shrewd trainer if he goes down that route.no doubt he probably has a big input in hannon's yard already.

Might he take over from his father, Dessie, once he retires?

ribero often had a few words with him when years ago he came North to ride for K Abdullah

always struck me as a nice bloke. Comes from the right background to make it as a trainer

no doubt about that.

quite possibly loper,i guess it depends on which country he wants to settle in when his riding career finishes.

Yes, his wife might not like the idea, but I'm sure his brother in law would!

indeed loper, young hannon certainly seems to enjoy life but i guess why not at that age and he does come over pretty well when interviewed.
