from what I can see, since 1970, only Diesis has won both.
Suspect a few have tried, so unlikley to affect the merit of either race |

I prefer the calendar as it was. Working for myself i dont need to keep track of time/month. Last week when cambridgeshire was on i thought it was october.

Dont think having both of the big 2yo races on the same day will make any differance, as they norm attract differant types of horse. The middle park is for sprint types (Dream Ahead) Where as the Dewhurst is for more of a Guineas type (Frankel) With the racing post trophy at Dony later this month is for your middle dist types, normally. Its a pitty that Harbour Watch wont be running, as i would have liked 2 see him in the Dewhust over 7f against the likes of Power, but i think they said that he would go for the middle park anyway.

hello pedrobob
dont agree with you that it makes no difference, only last season we had the mouthwatering prospect of a wide margin middle park winner taking on the royal lodge winner frankel in the dewhurst,i like most are against these changes to the way the autumn programme goes, however i will get use to it ,other than the middle park and the dewhurst been run on the same day. on the subject of diesis winning both ,i seem to think the jamie osbourne 2yo may have done the double 5 or 6 years ago. |
