The majority of caravans can now be taken away from the illegal travellers' site at Dale Farm, a High Court judge has ruled.
Basildon Council was told it could remove 49 of 54 plots along with the majority of concrete pitches on the site in Crays Hill, Essex.
However, an injunction preventing any removal from the site is expected to remain in force until tomorrow.

It ain't over yet, and I very much doubt that you're in any way sorry, cg.Cool
All the chat about the so-called "greenbelt" seems to have been swept under the carpet, now that Tony has left for the conservative and unionist party conference in Manchester.
His foolish and costly policy of forcing folk off their own land ( the total, wasteful, cost could be way over £20 million of taxpayers' money)
seems to be concluding with the five trailers nearest to Len's place being allowed to stay, plus all the fencing and other structures, including the Dale Farm House itself.
For some reason, the judge seems to be saying that this place cannot be used as a residence. I don't quite understand that one as that place was there long before Len's.
Neither am I clear about whether the scrapyard will revert back to its former use.
It seems a bit strange to say that the scrapyard - formerly used by the councils to store cars for breaking - will be once again allowed, but that some of the folk living on their own land will not be tolerated. Some fkn greenbelt!

As the majority population remaining quite legally in the immediate area are undoubtedly travellers - be they settled romanichals or settled or travelling pavees - I can't see that Len will feel that he's any better off.
Instead, for sure the taxpayers will be far worse off, and all to achieve nothing except fk people about.
Sharper brains be fkd!

Well, we're still here till tomorrow at least ( Wednesday).Grin

Btw, fair play to Karen Murphy of the Red, White, and Blue pub in Southsea! It's refreshing to see somebody standing up to the rotten rulers that so many on here kowtow to.

I won't be surprised to find the d mail and its rabid supporters on here orgaising some sort of dirty campaign against her. One thing these creeps hate is anybody who stands upo to rich and powerful bullies.

Apologies again for this thread remaining on the horseracing forum, though 'tis evident that none of the knowledgable and good posters have bothered with it.
