You can consider yourself lucky kelly, because they could have charged you up to 60% premium charge and maybe 5% comission,or like they did lately tell you that you had no bet after it won,or finally maybe they gave your credit card details to some Cambodian gang and forgot to tell anyone about it.You can consider yourself lucky that Sizing Europe wasnt the last leg as your in running trade would naturally have been matched once Rubi Light fell as well.

Plus if one or more of the horses had won and then got scrubbed the bookies would still have paid out ( approx 1% chance I suspect ) .

Returns on short priced beasts are bound to be similar ,it's longer priced ones that can be attractive on them.
No chance of any Cambodian using my credit card ...they don't like me using it , always phoning up ,human or automated, thinking it is being used for fraud & they have blocked the transaction .Still I'd rather they were on the case like that. |

at least your bet was placed, they usually return it after the first race saying unmatched,if you ve had the winner.
i agree with betfair - they should nt pay the tote guy out. 1)he got told bet not placed 2)supposing he was the only winner - would they pay 3 million. |

Sizing Europe was indedd steeped to win , but the fact is that backing short priced well fancied horses in multiples on here is probably not a good idea .
The average horse I back probably starts 3/1 max , so maybe I wont dabble in it again . Only did it to avail of the money back offer on here , which is worth something allright , but just thinking that without that there is little incentive . You live and learn . |
