Go to Cheltenham instead. Miles better racing than the flat nonsense.

True but it will be worth the extra fare to see some exciting racing rather than the turgid flat stuff.
Can't believe anyone would choose to go to Ascot rather than Cheltenham. |

There would be nothing that could get within a furlong of Frankel there Banksy
Unless it was in a F1 car |

Frankel or an early season novice hurdle? There really is no comparison.
I find NH racing a million times more exciting than the flat. I only go flat racing when there is no jumps on. I'm even glad when I have ticked off the flat only courses from my list as I know I don't have to return! I reckon I must go to 5 times as many jumps meetings as flat. |

I always find it strange that others see it the other way round.
I've never quite pinpointed the reasons why that is the case. From my point of view I like the idea of horses staying in training for a number of years and getting to know how they are campaigned from year to year. Clearly that is much better in NH as they are around longer. I also like the theatre of jumps much better. Standing by a fence is far more spectacular than watching a field of high class sprinters in my opinion. I just like the way that jumps races unfold and the part that tactics play. It is strange really as the main attraction is the betting so it shouldn't really matter too much. |

I always find flat racing to have more of a "calender" it has a nice Rhythm floating from the craven through to the breeders cup, it is imo like having a year of romance with a girl
The NH season feels like you are shut in a monastery for a few months then let out into a room of Brazilian Hookers, Columbias finest and a vat of beer for a week.... |
