Vinnie Roe sired his first winner on Friday and got off the mark in style when Mumbo Jumbo (4g Vinnie Roe-Top Lot, by Topanoora) was an impressive bumper winner at Gowran Park.
Trained by Mags Mullins for Peter Magnier, the four-year-old was a well-backed favourite when winning by three and three-quarter lengths under James ‘Corky’ Carroll. “I’m delighted with him and he did it really well. Corky said he would have taken off if he asked him to,” Mullins told www.irishracing.com. “He has a super attitude and answers every question we ask of him. He could be a fair horse but we don’t know where he’ll go next.” Mumbo Jumbo was bred by John O’Connor and bought by Mullins for 60,000 euros as a foal at Tattersalls Ireland |

The recent heavy downpours have caused the ground to ease at Tipperary ahead of their 'super sunday' meeting tomorrow.
Manager Nessa Joyce reported today that the ground was now soft, heavy in places on the Flat course – a notable change from the yielding description at declaration. The National Hunt track was good, yielding in places on Friday morning but is now described as yielding, soft in places. |

Lee Mottershead Stand by for some interesting reports on the Longchamp ground from senior jockeys... Gerald Mosse described the Longchamp ground as "good" Jarnet and Pasquier both described ground as "soft". Peslier and Crastus went for "good to soft" with Mendizabal opting for "good" Bear in mind that we're racing down middle of track. Rail will be taken down tomorrow and that fresher ground walks faster. |

Must have emptied the citys reservoir on the track for some of the jockeys to describe the ground as soft, either which way they went to town on the watering no excuse now for puff pastry face Stoute to pull Workorce out.
