agreed this looks a knocking ew bet.The ride he received last time was woeful imo given how well he got the trip behind Brown Panther & Census. The Bells Of Peover rates the danger.
By:
Would personally rate Kinyras as the biggest danger.................assuming Almagest doesn't find remarkable improvement on his last effort.
Considering this again, I think he'll go off FAV |
By:
He has sound ew chance at 9s in an open hcap(Well Sharp) solid hcap form and the trainer has always thought a lot of him.(held Derby entrys at 1 stage this season) Had a bit ew already.

I totally agree that this is a cracking bet tomorrow, a ratings service that I subscribe to has this horse nicely clear even with the poor ride last time

Price has surprisingly held up well overnight, and Laddies seem happy to lay him at 9/1 this morning.

What do you make of that handicap chase at Fonters today,IDKW ?
A race full of weak finishers/headstrong front runners. Any chance at all that Take a Mile could pick up the pieces late on? Can Lord Ryeford keep in touch early and outstay them late on ? Will Rippling Ring,Safari Journey and Exulto all fall to bits up the hill ? Can Gee Dee Nen keep his pitch and outstay them up the hill after a good round of jumping ? These are all questions that need answering. |
By:
I ask you because i know you are a jumps man at heart.
By:
Indeed Alain, and I have been racking my brains with this one.
I want to back Exulto but like you say he probably won't get home. Another who interests me is Rio Gael, who will surely get it together over fences at some point? |
By:
Don't really like Rio.
Has ran well in a large field before, but if he drops back into the pack and starts sulking and propping at fences there could be no way back for him. |
By:
Rippling Ring will have been aimed at this and is best fresh but can also fall to bits late on.
The race is a puzzle alright. |
By:
cant see SAFARI JOURNEY bieng beaten by enough to keep it out the frame
Cheers |
By:
Of the two Hobbs horses i expect SF to place.
The Dave's Dream form is very good. If the race was run at Stratford or Worcester over 2 miles i would fancy him more. |
By:
One of these days King Edmund is going to get into a small field, uncontested lead scenario and he will thrash them all.
Not today though IMO. |
By:
There is always the option to sit back, watch the race with no financial interest, and wonder HTF Intac/Grand Lahou/Zorro De La Vega managed to win the race?
Can't see me getting involved greatly in this one. Filed under TOO TRICKY (NAP) Anyway, back to the good thing of the day............your thoughts on WELL SHARP? |
By:
Dont think it stays the distance well enough, and probably regressing, for me more likely to finish last than first, but could be totally wrong
Cheers |
By:
I don't understand why people bother with flat racing when there are so many pace/draw biases out there that throw up unfathomable results.
The flat race formbook is full of races where the best horse didn't win. Throw into the mix the fact that flat racing is riddled with corruption and you have a tombola type scenario. |
By:
Which horse,RP?
By:
well sharp
Cheers |
By:
Thought there will be a good pace today and that'll suit Well Sharp. Seemed to stay it ok in soft ground at course he likes
By:
based on its last two efforts, I would take the view that the 3rd behind BP was a fluke, and although a competitive contest a lot of the runners dissapointed since (those behind) I can see whay people like it and it may well run very well, but for me I could not bet it wif given a free bet
Cheers |

'I don't understand why people bother with flat racing when there are so many pace/draw biases out there that throw up unfathomable results.'
it's the pace/draw biases that make it worthwhile [;)] |
By:
'based on its last two efforts, I would take the view that the 3rd behind BP was a fluke'
right, so effort in truly-run, competitive race is a fluke and you'd prefer to judge it on runs when out of depth in Grp 3 (also change of riding tactics) and when getting badly hmpd last time and finishing with running left [smiley:crazy] |
By:
I have said before its all about opinions, dont see nothing in its form since that ascot run to say thats its level of consistency, and horses who run down the field at ascot and look unlucky can be counted in the hudreds imo, your opinion may be correct and I may be way off the mark, but for me its going backwards, and for that reason I wont be investing
Cheers |
By:
i'm not backing this horse today but beyond me how anyone could watch its last run and say it's going backwards.....forget about the hard-luck story and it was still beaten little more than 3 lengths in a hot race. Cheers.
By:
We all see things differently, also the price is quite intersting given what a lot of people think
Cheers |
By:
decent race today. price about right imo. cheers.
By:
Seemed to have every chance today, but just did not finish off its race at pace
Cheers |
By:
yep only the one pace, can't fault the jock
By:
yes, consistent horse, almost certainly ran to similar level of form as last time...ie not going backwards. Cheers.
By:
I would still say its regressing, and either send it for a race up north over 10f, ot just drop it in distance
Cheers |
By:
Well done RP.
