Harbour Watch, our unbeaten ante-post favourite for next year's 2000 Guineas, has met with a setback and won't run again this season.

Richard Hannon, who had been preparing Harbour Watch for Newmarket, where the owners had just decided to run in the Dewhurst Stakes rather than the Middle Park, was philosophical abou the injury.

He said:"It's a shame as Harbour Watch has been flying at home, but he has had a hiccup and, with nothing left for him this season, we will draw stumps and leave him until next season.

"He has had the three runs, so the experience is in the bag, and if he comes back as good as new next spring we can look to the Greenham at Newbury to give him his pre-run for the Guineas."
