Compared to how it used to be say around a year ago when i used to come on regularly anyways. Where's money tree and that cool eddy character etc? TOO QUIET.
I try to stick at it and say what I think but it gets harder to ignore the hostile comments by others. We used to have a good mix of racing professionals, owners, regular racegoers etc. as well as those who think it should be solely a tipping site where those who have done some homework are supposed to tell the rest what is going to win. Now this last category have largely taken over and the others have mostly moved on. I carry on because when I get abuse for "aftertiming" from the usual subjects I also get some supportive posts from others. There is also the lack of significant races on most week days that reduces interest. We did have the Windsor Group race yesterday and Goodwood is not bad today but that is rare on a Monday or Tuesday.

Calling someone out for after timing isn't abuse, it's just stating a fact, particularly when that is a fair chunk of what someone does. On the other hand there are loads of threads which degenerate very quickly into abuse. How about calling those out instead? That more than anything is what drags the forum down. A forum should actually be about sharing knowledge - whatever your background - not keeping it secret. The few who do that have almost certainly placed their bet before posting so they are not losing anything. I have been on the forum a fair number of years, but in my time I don't ever recall a massive contribution from the categories you are seemingly lauding. Not all, but a fair few give the impression of wanting to put themselves on a pedestal. I listen to owner interviews and for many it seems like a case of money over sense. As for racing professionals if you want wall to wall cheerleading then that's available in spades.

Sage......I respect your knowledge, but i will always maintain that 99.9% of folks couldn't tell the difference between a Group race, or a handicap ,if the runners and riders were all " ringers"..........by the way,( if you're punting ).. it's never stopped raining down this way for hours now....G L.

Sageform - totally get that mate...it's the relentless stalking & vendettas which eventually get to everyone
I wonder whoever coined the moniker 'keyboard warrior' realised just how inspired & prophetic that term was/is? He deserves a payday for his genius as that prevalent 'culture' is so tiresome... especially when it's SO easy to just say nothing
