Why do people who think that racing is either crooked or incompetent seem to watch it. there are plenty of examples when a horse is given a poor ride or racecourse management make poor decisions-like Beverly yesterday-but in every walk of life this happens. How many times do computers crash, how many times per week do you get a power cut? Where I live it seems to be once a aweek which mean the internet and sky dish take 2 minutes or more to reset, all of the digital clocks need to be reset etc. No animals involved which makes things harder in racing. Just 100% human incompetence. And how many jockeys are toffs? Not many.
