There is an excellent curry house in Llanelli called The Verandah.

Ffos Las is a fair way out from Llanelli, a good half hour by road I guess. It's half way between Llanelli and Carmarthen.
Good selection of bars/clubs in Swansea Saturday nights, Wind St. in particular.
Depends how many of you are going, I reckon around 30 notes for a cab to Swansea, around half hour drive.
Don't know much about Llanelli for a night out though, but can recommend the Verandah as well.

This is passable, as in food is OK, rather than give it a miss.

Although I greatly respect the efforts of the owner in transforming a coal-mine into a racecourse, I feel i should warn you that, on a cold, wet, and windy day, FFos Las is a very bleak place to be, in my experience.

I never thought I'd see the day when I was glad to get to Swansea! The nine miles from the hilltop course to Llanelli train station cost me at least £20, but was better than hanging around up  on that moorland for any longer. Btw, the taxi took about an hour to arrive.

Sorry to be so negative, especially as I wish the new course every success. I'd say that on a nice summer's day, a few friends who drive there and take a picnic ( probably not allowed) would really enjoy the place.

and the road signs to ffos las are put up by the welsh tourist board so they are designed to take you on the scenic route to show you a bit more of wales.
if you want to knock 10 miles off your journey then plan your route in advance using a map and ignore the road signs.

rang the course and they said there is a free bus to course from llanelli station before racing so that helps!

Track middle of nowhere, Trimsaran has a gold club for a beer but little else nearby, CoC gives misleading ground updates, once rang the course at 9am to check racing on, told me fine hardly had any rain, pulled into carpark with stewards waving at me racing off, been twice jumps and flat, can get windy and very testing if it rains.

Beware coked up valley commandos, and overweight tattooed welsh birds who say lush a lot
