Opened an acc with these jokers on sunday for Royal Ascot, i placed £25 ew on a horse in the Ascot stakes...got beat ...another £25 ew at ascot royal hunt cup..got beat...
tried to get £50 on an 11-2 chance yesterday, website said,'' Liabilities too high, please ring our cust serv''...Ok ,so i rang them they said ''you can have £10''...so i took it,
i then saw i had a FREE £20 BET...,SO i phoned and asked for £20 free bet on a horse at 5-1...The saucy little No nothing  (steve)said, ''i'll ask the trader,'' ...
THIS IS HOW CONVERSATION WENT.........

MUG;...You can have £2.00.
Me;.....but its A £20  free bet..
MUG...AND..
me......Well why can't i have the bet.
MUG...Trader said so..
me.....Ok. i'll have £20 S/P
mug.....Well you can't...
me...Ask the trader...
MUG....No...
me...Well i'll have £20 on Shumooz at 11-10 or s/p instead..
MUG...No, you can have £2.00 on that if you like..
me....Well ask the fcuking trader to pick out a horse and i'll have it on that.
MUG...No, you'll have to have 10x £2.00 bets for your free bets...
I KID YOU NOT....I HUNG UP, RANG AGAIN AND EXPLAINED TO SOME WOMAN ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED...She said you can have £20 7-2.....(IT GOT BEAT ANYWAY)......

I RANG AND ASKED FOR ANOTHER BET LATER OUT OF CURIOUSITY, AND WAS TOLD I WAS RESTRICTED TO £2.00 ON ANYTHING....WHY...FFS....I GO RACING IN THE NORTH QUITE OFTEN AND ALWAYS THOUGHT THEY WERE STRONG...WON'T BE GOING ANYWAY NEAR THEM IN FUTURE..

BY THE WAY ,I ASKED FOR MY BALANCE TO BE RETURNED, AND CLOSED THE ACC....

Had an account for a few weeks with them, noticed they sponsored (I think) the whole card at Chester last week. They normally let you have a decent bet if you ring up but not on the Computer.

Do seem pretty small time, the in running service is poor. Wouldn't have a go at that Steve bloke (have spoken to him) - he is just the middle man.

I picked CORBETT up in my cab a few years ago in York and took him to his hotel near the course , waited for him , then took him to the track , cant remember the fare but remember he paid it to the penny and no more , has 2 shops in York and would not and will never punt in either of them .

Who do you complain to about "Bookmakers" like this?

They really should not have a licence from what I have seen. It must be hell in their Shops. More than likely only still open due to FOBT addicts.

Ring them up and tell them you will report them for obtaining pecuniary advantage contrary to the Theft Act 1968.

1.01 you will get your free bet on anything you want.nap

Had my lest bet with them anyway - like I say when you see a firm sponsoring every race at Chester on a Saturday you kind of expect them to lay a half decent bet, seems I could not of been further wrong though.

Chopped from £40 to £10 on Wimbledon Ladies Singles Champion at 11/4 - comical.

Not even winning off them.

See when this woman let you have the £20 at 7/2 - was that the same horse that was originally 5/1?

I tried to get £200 on a 4/5 over 2.5 goals bet, I was allowed £150 online but had to ring up for the rest. I rang up and it was now 8/11 and the nifty had to be at 8/11.

Got a funny feeling they have chopped that 5/1 in to 7/2 because you wanted your score on it. Please don't tell me it was for a Royal Ascot race, ffs but it really would not surprise me in the slightest.

They are based in chester, and have a lot of shops here. I noticed a couple years ago that their prices were slow at updating in the shops. IE I was getting 2-1 on 7-4 shots 16s on 10-1 shots. It was like Christmas come early. I had 2 or 3 people getting bets on all over the city, took them for about 40k over 2-3 weeks, walked into my local shop one day and was told no more bets. fair enough you would think. Few months later I bumped into the manageress of one of the shops in PC world, very nice girl who was always pleasant and was happy when you won, she had worked for corbetts for a number of years. she then proceeded to tell me that she had been sacked bacause of the bets she had taken from me, they told her that she should have known what was going on and reported the bets to head office. Its a joke because as far as im aware all bets are flagged at head office as they are taken and I cant see how its her fault that the prices were slow to update, and on top of that we were using several dif shops to get bets on. I felt very sorry for the girl but she now says she is much happier where she is, so worked out for everyone in the end. except corbetts. lol.

Are you guys trying to arb them as i have heard they will cut back anyone who tries to arb them which you can't seriously blame them for?

Not at all. I was recommended to them by a representaive of them at Chester Races who told me they would lay a bet to take out £300 without any problem on solid events. I have given them a go as I thought this bloke was probably talking sense (given he was a representative) and they were sponsoring most of the races on the card that day.

I have complained regarding this and I am waiting a reply from a Senior Trader. If I don't get a decent reply I will post it on here and state some of the bets they have reduced me on (talking nothing that takes out over £500 and in the main bets that take out about £100). I will also close the account and next time I am Chester will not bet at there stand.

Pretty unsure how they keep going in all honesty but maybe they don't need small punters or a healthy reputation.

I don't know if you are likely to get a Senior Trader to respond, i havn't known of any of the big firms that have a trader respond yet - maybe i havn't been pushy enough.
Good luck if you do get one though, as i am sure they will have a reason to restrict you.
As for dambuster - sounds like you really pissed someone off there it looks like they are laughing at you unfortunately.
Any bookies that restrict punters must do for a reason whether they are protecting their liabilities or trying to get rid of a punter who is no good as well as getting shut of the arbers. Not making it particularly easy for arbers any more.

billy

I won't be getting anything off any Senior Trader I know - just be an e-mail sent. Just think Firms should reply to e-mails/phonecalls when Customers ask fair questions.

Pretty peed off after myself and my mates punted with them on the rails at Chester and they were alright with us to then be messed about by the online/phone operation.

Their call anyway - not like it is going to affect my life greatly with the stakes I punt but if they regularly lose punters that fast they will only be going one way I would of thought in this climate.

On track Corbett will lay you a decent bet, often goes bigger than the prices on here, always matches each way terms. Online is a different matter. They only have a small operation running off the finsoft/stanj site template. Can't knock'em on track though.
