I was stationed just up the road at Greenham Common when I was lucky enough to attend the meeting.I think the big race was then the Schweppes Hurdle,I remember the winner pouring blood from a leg injury.

Cant remember the name of the winner,do remember Freddie Star was there and had a runner, again the name escapes me.

Only Freddie Star I know is Minnehoma who went on to win the grand national and elise,

the first name that pops into my head when the Sheweppes is mentioned is always Ra Nova followed by Neblin and then Stan !

Wayward Lad raced there that day. Do you remember him being there?

Disturbing ged,I can remember very little of the meeting. We were so knackered from long shifts and little sleep plus a few sherbets on the day.

Probably the only meeting I have been to where I have little recall of events.I did remember the winner of the Schweppes having a cut leg, being trained by a lady and Freddie Starr wearing a camel hair coat.

That is the sum total of my memories of the day.ConfusedConfusedConfusedConfusedConfusedConfused[smiley:crazy][smiley:crazy][smiley:crazy]

Freddie Starr was there, Glen. You were drinking with him in your squaddie uniform. Your wife recorded that meeting and there you were on telly stood next to him. Surely you can remember that? I remember it like I’d heard it for the first time yesterday!

I must have remembered it all wrong Kenbo, this thread is 15 years ago so maybe my stroke and illness skewed my memory since?

Absolutely possible but to call me a liar? My mate Mark was still killed as stated?

‘Had a few drinks with Freddie Starr’ translates as saw him in the distance

When you’re a hybrid of Stewy B and BigMart, it’s pretty easy to see through your embellishments. An embellishment not even worth making either.

Are you just a sycophant of shafter kenbo or just envious because you have lived no life? Explain what you think I have gained from these ancient threads other than you and your ilk?

I can guarantee I have never knowingly told a lie on here but you seem obsessed and unable to prove otherwise like shafter?

2026 sees tobyliarcalgarymugs installed as an odds on favourite after telling the BF forum some mighty unproven stories.

claimed he laid layed COT for 155k or more but came out with an 11k profit.
