I enjoy these reads but really.
The Shepherd - It is inevitable in a string of 50 horses that some will be well handicapped and others not so, and unfortunately this horse is in the latter category...is up to 121 now which I think he will find difficult to live with.
Correct me if Im wrong but did this horse not just hose up today at 12-1????[>o]

Sp was 13/2.

You wouldn't want to take any notice of quotes from Gordon Elliott anyway. Grin

his stable tour in the racingpost was fairly accurate though.... said was only a matter of time before the shepherd won and that toner doudairies was far better than it was at thurles and was flying at home.... (words to that effect) and both have won their last 2

It wasnt so much a criticism just slightly bemusing that a quote like that could so wide of the mark as he is certainly one of the trainers who knows the time of day. I appreciate that they cant tell you exactly which horse is going to win when but if i was betting in the race it would certainly have put me off.

yeh would have put me off aswel :( shame as having won with the 2 i mentioned i thought he was becoming reliable :)

Maybe everyone should leave their phone number on this thread then maybe Gordon will ring and tell you when his next gamble is on. For those who would find a phone call from Gordon embarrassing because they might be at work maybe you should send a stamped addressed envelope to his stables. Maybe.

Thats a bit flippant Lordnoise. Im guessing Gordon got paid for this feature and Im not suggesting for a minute we should all be in on a gamble. He should, however, be a touch more forthcoming when it comes to assessing his horses future chances, as should any of the trainers taking part in these features otherwise its all disinformation which will do nothing to attract anyone to horse racing in the future.

I know I sound like Julian Wilson betilyerded(wot!) but if I paid the training fees I'd feck any trainer off who went public with a 'plot' horse of mine. If its running at/in the wrong distance/ground, left instead of right handed (or any other variable you care to mention) its down to the punter to work out when its 'off' or not. Caveat Emptor old boy - Caveat Emptor.

What did Elliott say about that winner - SILVERLORD - that has just been backed off the boards at Down Royal - forcing the original fav, and previous course winner, out from 4/7 to 6/4.

- and the three others that Jason Maguire has gone to Down Royal to ride for him, today.

Gordon Elliott quote for all ye conspiracy theorists: I'll be disappointed if Toner D'Oudairies gets beaten

Report duncan idaho December 30, 2010 1:13 PM GMT
I'm pretty sure Gordon was disappointed by that.
