Ballydoyle's tactics ??

puzzled by that, Foundation outpaced Deauville in the Royal Lodge before he just stayed on yet they send the pacemaker on to go a crawl ???

Now that was a shocking ride

Concentrating to much on Deauville as if it was purely a two horse race
Report liberator of the oppressed October 24, 2015 3:52 PM BST
If that was a tin pot trainer and not so high profile jock would question be asked about riding out for best possible placing? Just a thought.
Report gutfeeling October 24, 2015 3:53 PM BST
I'm lost for words. As bad as I've seen.
Winner was alongside him 3 out so why didn't he go wide.
Report councillor October 24, 2015 3:53 PM BST
Gosh guys so harsh> What could he do blocked in everywhere. He pulls to the outside loses 5 lenngths and gbets beat people would have said he should have waited. Dettori had no chance whatever he did
Report duffy October 24, 2015 3:54 PM BST
deffo one of the worst I've seen
Report Can't Catch Me October 24, 2015 3:54 PM BST
There was nothing he could do until the 2f pole but to stay there for another furlong and not come wide was brainless.
Report MJK October 24, 2015 3:55 PM BST
Hilarious seeing him try to stop the horse finishing too fast so as not to make the ride look even worse.

Should be an enquiry into the ride. Anyone looking at that race, not knowing, who or what the horses, jockeys, race was, would deffo think that was bent.

Of course it wasn't pulled,it was just totally inept
Report carrot1960 October 24, 2015 3:58 PM BST
Frankie had plenty of time to go after the winner after he looked across well over 2 out but choose not to , questions should be asked given Gosdens comments
Report johnnyrant October 24, 2015 3:59 PM BST
Foundation found about 4 lengths very quickly when he saw daylight. Couldn't understand all the talk about him not wanting cut. He has serious high knee action.
Report Roger De Bris October 24, 2015 3:59 PM BST
Gosden gave him the carte blanche to act the maggott............
Report Fairbet? October 24, 2015 3:59 PM BST
Boxed in lol. The horse was not 'boxed in' - he had plenty of room outside. It seemed that Frankie was adamant that he wanted to go between horses....even after Marcel had flown he still sat there. One poor decision after another. Didn't look good at all.
Report councillor October 24, 2015 3:59 PM BST
Could not get him to the outside in  time passage  was blocked by horse on outside until half a furlong out when it was too late

And that is coming from a dyed in the wool cynic who is fully aware that the sport is institutionally corrupt.

It was poor decison making by the pilot from furlong one to furlong 7 in a 7 runner race where the winner and 2nd came done the middle of the track.
Report oneyallbeenwaiting4 October 24, 2015 4:05 PM BST
the best horse won, sick I never backed it, looked a lovely specimen when winning his maiden but i thought he was one for next year and PCH "hes no authorized" sealed my fate

the winner is a very good horse and 25s is an insult, if that was one of obriens winning like that it would be 5/1 fav just now

obrien has no derby horse at this stage, none of his 2yos seen are the Derby winner, he will need to have something sitting unraced
Report hulk23 October 24, 2015 4:06 PM BST
so you wouldn't pull a group 1 race, but it's ok to not give an odds on favourite a hard race in one.

i see ......

Report oneyallbeenwaiting4 October 24, 2015 4:13 PM BST
Barton, I was waiting on Foundation for a dbl with Light Music, my main bet today by some way, but I wasnt surprised at all by the winner and I dont think Foundation would have beat him, it was a terrible ride from Frankie and also poor show from Coolmore but its great to see the little guys get a nice horse, the interview with the owners and girl who rides him was brilliant to see
Report oneyallbeenwaiting4 October 24, 2015 4:15 PM BST
Foundation to me isnt a Derby horse and he isnt good enough to win a Guineas, hes another Carlton House type at very best.
Report Fairbet? October 24, 2015 4:18 PM BST
Oneyall; IF they meet again, I think you know which way it will turn out next time. I agree with you regarding the Derby, as I was really impressed with Idaho the other day. However, whichever way you look at it, we did not see the best of Foundation today
Report blackbarn October 24, 2015 4:18 PM BST
hulk - "so you wouldn't pull a group 1 race, but it's ok to not give an odds on favourite a hard race in one."

If you don't understand the difference between "pulling" a horse and not giving one a hard race. You are in the wrong sportLaugh
Report flatcap October 24, 2015 4:21 PM BST
The most interesting factor for me was that they raced down the stands rail. Over the 2 days at Donny all races on straight track they have raced down the centre.

Seems strange that in a group 1 race the jockeys decided to race on the stands side where jockeys have more chance of being blocked in.
Report oneyallbeenwaiting4 October 24, 2015 4:25 PM BST
look at the way the 3 coolmore jockeys looked at each other in the stalls, they knew exactly what they were about to do, they would have gotten away with it too if it wasnt for Marcel
Report oneyallbeenwaiting4 October 24, 2015 4:26 PM BST
its one thing running a pacemaker, but these team tactics from ballydoyle are beyond a joke at times
Report johnnyrant October 24, 2015 4:31 PM BST
Why doesn't anyone on the racing channels ever question the Coolmore tactics? That's one of the most disappointing things. The racing media refuses to rock the boat, too many gravy-trainers, the R.Post a mouthpiece for the bookies, we even had a numpty from winner.com being given air time on The Morning Line this am - a joke firm who will close you if you have the audacity to have a £10 winner at 4-1. There is no critical, investigative journalism in racing. Ever.
Report ivynook October 24, 2015 4:33 PM BST
What was he to do? Did he have to lead? If he leads he may well win. But clearly tactics were to take a pull. He was blocked, nowhere to go. Get over yourselves. It happens.

So it's their fault Dettori **** up?

Report oneyallbeenwaiting4 October 24, 2015 4:49 PM BST
they done what they set out to do, Dettoris hands were pretty much tied from early in the race, it was a trap, he would have had to go about 6 wide when he actually wanted to make his move, he should have went wide imo but waited for the gap, he would have lost ground going wide but at least he could have got the horse going sooner, still dont think he could have won no matter what he done the way the race panned out
Report roida October 24, 2015 4:54 PM BST
Its no wonder 99% of people lose as gamblers cos ive never read as much utter rubbish in my life...

watch it again...he was trapped behind 3 horses who stayed side by side for 3 f and he simply had no-where to go...its racing,,it happens every day.
Report timeless October 24, 2015 4:56 PM BST
should off used his helicopter.
Report oneyallbeenwaiting4 October 24, 2015 4:58 PM BST
just inside the 2 he had conceded first run to the winner but he had the chance then to go wide and he didnt take it, the bird had probably flown anyway

obviously with hindsight he would take a tug earlier but he must have been expecting Deuville to go on and leave the gap to track him through, it looked horrendous but its easy to sit and dissect it after the race
Report roida October 24, 2015 5:01 PM BST
if foundation ran against marcel 10 times it would win all 10.
Report charwell. October 24, 2015 5:52 PM BST
for anybody to excuse a jockey who gets boxed in for 3f in a 7 runner race on a straight track clearly knows nothing about the game.
