oldjoesaid in the 4 30 is absolutely tossed in on anything approaching his best, dropped yet another 2lb since his somewhat at first glance lacklustre bronze cup effort he is imo one of the best handicapped nags in training. the ayr run is easily forgiven drawn about as bad as it got ,ground not ideal, trip imo not his optimum. everything today is the opposite of ayr, with the possible exception of the draw though i'm not sure the gate is very important at york. one reason for his deteriation in form from his younger days was breathing problems, connections believe these have been ironed out now. personally the only thing about today i'm not entirely happy about is the jockey booking given the totally inept ride spencer gave oldjoe at donny, but hopefully today frank won't be lighting his cigar when the traps open.
