After you've spilt the rest of it down your bib the n and the t should be easy.

Ha ha, I doubt that - but am in no doubt that they will be poised.....

It is always such a shame when the lower elements such as ybor feel the need to expose their common vulgarity here.

not vulgar to refer to you in those terms.Harris tells it like it is.
Report _mfordy_ May 20, 2010 11:08 AM BST
The fact that you do not think it vulgar immediately confirms my earlier assertion. Thank you.

Report artie May 20, 2010 11:59 AM BST
What's a " dirty" each way bet ?
Report geton May 20, 2010 12:09 PM BST
im sure u have heard the expression before artie but i will humour you - Weathervane ew @ 7/2 is pretty dirty ew bet getting 1.7 a place when its actual chance of being placed is greater (check bf place market for confirmation)
Report artie May 20, 2010 12:23 PM BST
So in English you mean a good or value or shrewd EW bet.
Report ewok2006 May 20, 2010 12:26 PM BST
artie, showing an eager interest in Mr Hugh aren't we?
Report artie May 20, 2010 12:31 PM BST

Trying to pick "the winner of the race" is for mugs, and entertainment players. Leave it to the experts and earn a good living. Simple.
Report geton May 20, 2010 12:42 PM BST
yeah nothing wrong with them artie i do them all the time.

but they are a bit different to just good value/shrewd bets. with the books the ew part of the price is worked out simply on the price the horse is to win. so the price to win of around 3/1 could be fairly poor value but the place part of the bet of 3/5 could be very good value.

in the industry they are generally know as dirty ew bets

artie is absolutely spot on - very well put. Good to hear someone talking such excellent sense.

Report leif May 10, 2023 10:58 PM BST
That'll explain why Sir Hugh has maintained a point blank refusal to reply to Fraudy on Tw4tter despite the constant and sickening, sycophantic simpingShocked
