APPRENTICE Sophie Doyle received a seven-day ban for violent and improper conduct following a changing-room altercation with fellow rider Kirsty Milczarek after the last race at Southwell on Tuesday.

Stewards' secretary Geoff Forster said: "They had a disagreement and in the process a blow was landed. Sophie was very apologetic afterwards."
Doyle was riding Vogarth in the 7f handicap and Milczarek, a late replacement for Patrick Mathers, was aboard Sparky Vixen.
The row that followed the race did not appear to have been sparked by any incident during it. Doyle will be banned from May 25-31.

Fallon was being interviewed around the time he was about to make his comeback and one of the questions he was asked was about female jockeys - his reply was that there are some very good female jockeys and he named the obvious ones...and then he said Sophie Doyle - which quite surprised me.
