Haha! I only back horses to win in 3 races.. all lost! BUT I had a nice 11/1 double with VC "Cozy Tiger 3-30 , Lisbon Lion 5-30 both to be placed" I even posted it in for the 3-30 forum race to prevent any aftertiming! Anyway, so I've managed to claw back a 200 profit today.

What about you? Fekin Curley, damn his horses with no form!
Report billybobjunior May 10, 2010 11:52 PM BST
I wonder how much will curley donate to the charity
Report ilikewavingatbuses May 10, 2010 11:54 PM BST
haha, nice one!!no bets today, didnt back scarlet rock in the end, a bit short, shouldve just backed last night!!amazing gamble by curley alright, guess u gotta take notice when his horses are being backed 25s in to 5/4 WOW!
Report ilikewavingatbuses May 10, 2010 11:55 PM BST
haha billybob, i wonder indeed!!!i think this one was just for himSilly
Report all over May 10, 2010 11:55 PM BST
fair play to him
Report ilikewavingatbuses May 10, 2010 11:56 PM BST
yeah im delighted, love when the bookies take a bashing!!i know people think otherwise bout him but its simple, dont play in his races!!
Report billybobjunior May 10, 2010 11:59 PM BST
I think I read somewhere before that he said after he retires if he pulls off a gamble a large chunk goes to charity as he doesnt need much of it
Report ilikewavingatbuses May 11, 2010 12:01 AM BST
yeah he set up a charity i think!!its all on wiki, fair play!!
Report RyanWe May 11, 2010 12:04 AM BST
Any of you lads read his Autobiography? Applaud his charity work and all, just don't like how he thinks he is never wrong. Don't really know what to make of plotting of horses either, everyone is at it, just his get a lot more hype and following.
Report billybobjunior May 11, 2010 12:06 AM BST
No i have not read the book but I am going to go see if I can find it on Ebay or some online book shop.He would be a great entertainer over a few pints
Report ilikewavingatbuses May 11, 2010 12:06 AM BST
never read it man, im gonna tho!!!that was a monster today tho, matr said it was possibly the biggest in the history of the sport?this true?
Report RyanWe May 11, 2010 12:08 AM BST
The horse of his that lost today was an absolutely ridiculous price too. I wondered if he planned for 1st two to win and knew everyone would lump on the 3rd one and he was waiting to lay it - who knows!
Report billybobjunior May 11, 2010 12:09 AM BST
Not too sure about that.I would think if the last one had been landed then through all the muliplys then yeah but you can never really believe bookies when they use these events as Pr stunts. The bottom line is that curley is curley and I doubt bookies would take as much cash as other trainers
Report ilikewavingatbuses May 11, 2010 12:13 AM BST
lol i thought exactly the same thing ryan, i doubt it tbh but it did cross my mind!!id say there was some massive 4folds tho!! a 1 quid lucky 15 on his 4 horses at their initial odds paid out over 11 grandShocked
Report RyanWe May 11, 2010 12:14 AM BST
Guess it's hard to equate with other gambles and money back then didn't sound as much, but it was worth a lot more. Yeah his book is a good read, a lot more fascinating than today's 'pro' punters.. cheap on amazon, is used mind.
Report billybobjunior May 11, 2010 12:16 AM BST
would never buy a used book. You never know whats been touching those pages,Do you want your hands on pages that have been previously touched by man willieGrin
Report ilikewavingatbuses May 11, 2010 12:17 AM BST
Laugh u crazy kids
Report RyanWe May 11, 2010 12:18 AM BST
Thing is though, wouldn't a lot of casual punters not know about the 4th horse with Grant? My old man was telling me about the massive gamble on the Grant horse early in the morn and I thought it was something totally unrelated. Mind you, I didn't even know the horses name or who it was trained with, just thought he was harking on about some donkey.
Report RyanWe May 11, 2010 12:19 AM BST
BillyBob, haha! Yeah totally fair point, I wouldn't either. My old man gave me it to read.. now that you said that.. EWW! Wish you hadn't of said that, sick!
Report RyanWe May 11, 2010 12:20 AM BST

Report ilikewavingatbuses May 11, 2010 12:21 AM BST
thats true ryan although a fair fewon here seemed to kno barney used to train that horse and sold it to grant so im sure punters really in to it would have had an idea!!not like usLaugh

Or a **** read?!Laugh My poor Missus too!

I only found out today that Grant was once assistant trainer to Curley Ilwab! Thought I knew the NH so well lol.
Report RyanWe May 11, 2010 12:27 AM BST
Think Barney was pretty out of order to Luke, with all the underachiever stuff.. which although true, no need for it.
Report ilikewavingatbuses May 11, 2010 12:29 AM BST
Laugh agree but luke was laughing and mccrick was shaking in his boots LOL
Report RyanWe May 11, 2010 12:33 AM BST
I don't really understand how Curley can complain about people not taking his bets though.. if you was a bookmaker in the ring, you would have to be stupid to take a big bet off him. Hardly gets it wrong, generally his horses have like 10lb in hand, probably more.
Report ilikewavingatbuses May 11, 2010 12:35 AM BST
i agree, how would anyone take his bets lol i suppose he gets people to do it for him (like diddles) LOL
Report RyanWe May 11, 2010 12:39 AM BST
Yeah.. bookies don't really take risks with his runners though, always priced low in mornings. Obviously apart from the Grant runner, clearly they forgot that he had any associaion with it. Anyway, am sure they will all be priced even lower next time and will probably lose! Laugh

Fancy anything tomorrow?
Report ilikewavingatbuses May 11, 2010 12:41 AM BST
he lay them then LOL!!nothing man, havent even looked!!next bet will be wednesday i think!!showcasing at york either just place or w/p!!
Report ilikewavingatbuses May 11, 2010 12:41 AM BST
yourself??
Report RyanWe May 11, 2010 12:47 AM BST
Was just looking at that race! God it's so annoying when the faces just disappear?! Am seriously contemplating backing Mullionmileanhour with PP at 8/1 NRNB GP.. Lost for me last time, thought it was unlucky to lose on the nod, obviously Equiano won NTO too. How come you like showcasing?
Report RyanWe May 11, 2010 12:50 AM BST
Is the draw going to be as big a factor than recent years? Only 12 runners this time.. ours both highest, not good for the stats.. so hoping it won't have as much significance
Report antoin May 11, 2010 12:51 AM BST
barneys a legend!! defo advise to read his book!!
Report ilikewavingatbuses May 11, 2010 12:54 AM BST
i was just gonna say that re draw!!i think his form is v solid, also has course form, unexposed too!!!i dont see him out of first 3, glad theyre sticking with sprinting too!!dont kno what too make of o briens! and just not a big main aim fan!!
Report RyanWe May 11, 2010 12:59 AM BST
Well enough negatives surrounding Ballydoyle and the grp1 penalty it has to carry against unexposed horses like you say. Agree about Main Aim too, well inconsistent! Yeah Showcasing could be anything, not too sure about that grp1 form of his though. No 3 YO won this in last 10 years, don't know how much further back it goes or how many have tried. Personally think Showcasing is more priced upon hype. GL if you play anyway. Fancy Five Star Wilsham tomorrow Newt Ab 7-30.. so cheer it on if you see it!
Report ilikewavingatbuses May 11, 2010 1:02 AM BST
