Hi guys,

Nice to be here.

I am new to horse betting or betting... so I thought to ask for some tips?

What would be the first things that somebody should do when starting to bet?

I think maybe to find a database? Is somewhere something like this to buy? And how much would that be? Or maybe there are free dbs? :)

Cheers

sportinglife website is good - easy to check form, racecards and related info - I use it and still lose though Laugh

atr website has archive of all races shown on ATR (but keep well away from that dodgy virtual racing game on their site) and the sporting life website has archive of all the races shown on RUK.
both sites are free.

racing post site has declarations and form for all UK runners and this main part of the site is free.
they only charge people for stupid tips and any racing news that might attract newcomers to racing.
if you refuse too pay the parasites then you can still use their site in conjunction with the other sites.

good luck.

The first thing to do is to understand yourself!
What are you trying achieve and what are your abilities and limitations?
Put aside a betting bank and research how to stake your possible bets, keeping accurate records (paper trade at first).
Come back in a year and tell us if your ready to use real money - easy it ain't![:(]

Advice ...

Read  and  take  note  of  sensible  posts  here ... if  you  have  no  idea  of  what  the  sensible  posts  are,  then  I  do  believe  your  'instincts'  are  not  really  suited  for  any  sort  of  betting ...

If  it  is  the  fishing  sport  you  are  practicing,  then  well-done,  for  you  have  a  few  bites  already ... lol  Grin

Good  luck  and  enjoy yourself in whatever  your  intentions ... :)

1. Ignore anyone posting in caps
2. Ignore anyone with Info
3. Ignore free money threads
4. Learn your trainers
5. Learn your courses
6. Never be reactionary, if you didnt like a horse dont back it just because the market does
7. If you play IR be aware it is not a level playing field
8. Be aware that some people tell huge fecking lies on here either cos they are mentalist or they are trying to put you away

Hi and thanks for the replies!

instincts, Stop now, Come back in a year...
wow this sound like a tough world :)

I am a programmer so I would like to take a look at a database and try to extract some algorithms.

The bad part is that I didnt found any database to buy...
I see that there are a few guys that have their own systems so I was wondering how did they get their databases?

I thought to ask around first...

Cheers and thanks again for replies.

iguess.

This isn't a, "datsabase and algorithms," game.

You are dealing with 'living flesh' - in the form of horses, and thinking human beings - as shown by the shrewdest man in the game this afternoon.

You will get absolutely nowhere trying to apply such an approach, and 'stats', against the 'Sharp minds' on here ...... and there are more a few ..... just waiting to gobble you up.

Sorry to disappoint you, but believe me you are 'an innocent abroad'.
