There was a thread on the BBC 606 site (since removed) that said it was 3lbs caused by one of the weights falling out when Sunbow reared up in the stalls

Must say i agree PR was very poor
Although enquiry called And objection from clerk of scales even RUK commentators didnt know exactly to what horse HENCE being able to bet 1.14 on here, normally under such circumstances it would have been 1.01

True, what is more surprising is they tried to cover the bad comunication by having no comunication at all.
Hope such situation can be addressed, as many twisted minds might make something out of nothing due to the lack of info

You honestly don't expect blue-blooded stewards to communicate with the unwashed public !!!!

doesn't really answer it but ....

"The Clerk of the Scales objected to SUNBOW (USA), ridden by Ahmed Ajtebi, the winner, for failing to draw the correct weight. The Stewards held an enquiry and interviewed the rider, the Clerk of the Scales, Mr C Connaught, the trainer’s representative and Mr E Kingsley, the rider’s valet. The Stewards found that having heard their evidence there was no reasonable explanation for Ahmed Ajtebi weighing in more than a pound light. They therefore sustained the objection, disqualified SUNBOW (USA), placing HUNTINGFORTREASURE first, TASTE THE VICTORY (USA) second, KHANDAQ (USA) third, and HAIL TIBERIUS fourth. They found Ahmed Ajtebi to be in breach of B.67 and suspended him for three days as follows: 25, 26 and 27 May."
