Report anfieldkings May 8, 2010 2:24 PM BST

the horse dodged it imo
Report anfieldkings May 8, 2010 2:25 PM BST
everytime a horse travels and then gets beat its the jockeys fault on here!

he should have made more use of the horse.

trying to win cosily imo
Report anfieldkings May 8, 2010 2:27 PM BST
the horse found very little and was put in the race 100% properly.
Report curious-cat May 8, 2010 2:28 PM BST
could have been harder ridden imo
Report welshrock May 8, 2010 2:28 PM BST
frank rode the worst race there
Report jmdc May 8, 2010 2:29 PM BST
Emma was the first to admire the ride NOT!
Report curious-cat May 8, 2010 2:29 PM BST
even the commentator said Hughes was trying to kid the horse along.

nearest they ever come to criticising a jockey.
Report anfieldkings May 8, 2010 2:30 PM BST
curious cat i would assume he meant that the horse was a monkey and wouldn't respond to being bashed about at all, contrast that with the winner who would give everything it had.
Report anfieldkings May 8, 2010 2:31 PM BST
anyway if you lost money on the race, hope you reclaim soon.
Report curious-cat May 8, 2010 2:31 PM BST
watching the replay ...

when Hayley is pushing her horse her elbow straightens and you can see a genuine push with arms straightening ..

whilst Hughes is all flapping reins and bent elbow

THE LEFT ARM NEVER STRAIGHTENS !

v little money involved but thank you for your concern.

I feel that the variance in jockeys trying to win is what is turning more people away from the sport.

just there's often a contrast in riding styles between when a jockey is going all out to win or not.

There was once a race where Pat Eddery was going hell for leather to try and win the race ........ in the last 50 yards he could see he was beaten and changed to gently pushing his horse ( ie he never stopped riding ) and he finished 4th.

Was that acceptable ?
So one second he's trying to win and the next he's not .... I feel it's important for jockeys to try their utmost.

No wonder there's been an increase in sports betting at the expense of horse racing.

watch Fallon riding a finish and see the drive with his arms.

doesn't often need a whip in a finish.
Report anotheronebitesthedust May 8, 2010 2:50 PM BST
Hughes went too soon IMO

Apart from that didn't do much wrong, just bad timing when he pushed the button.

Horse doesn't do much in front so needs to come late.
Report smithy#1 May 8, 2010 2:54 PM BST
not sure but wuldnt have thought yoou could drive your arms forward with  a reign

think its the flexing the arms where you get a response from horse
Report gart May 8, 2010 2:55 PM BST
i'd rather just say that she was tres bon thereLove
Report smithy#1 May 8, 2010 2:57 PM BST
this ball sh1te about strong jockeys is laughable

keep the horse interested is their job
