What is the major difference between this outlook and the old one?

The big difference is the loading speed - or lack of it

- and the increased and, consequently, slower scrolling - due to the elongated threads, because of the larger frames display ....
and then the 'topics' and 'refresh' boxes disappearing when you are at the bottom of the thread, and then have to scroll back up, again. |
