Does anybody have the real final time for Ransom Note's win yesterday? Racing Post, Timeform etc all have a freakishly fast 1m 33.33, a new course record. This is obviously wrong. Watching the video the time appears to be nearer 1m 38.

I have not the slightest interest in times. However I can tell you very sincerely that the yard think the world of this horse.

I spoke to someone there at 0730 today. Wish it had been 0730 yesterday. I took a strong interest having overlayed Channon and Fahey horses.

Hope your record is better than mine when laying Fahey's horses.

I don't lay them often. He's twice as good as the Arab sustained majority of HQ trainers.

Yes, I noticed it, Figgis, when I came to do my figures. There's either a mistake or Ransom Note needs entering for every Group One going.

On balance, I think the mistake scenario is the more likely.

Maybe just a misprint, Augustine, 1m 38.33 possibly?

Figgis, I don't know if you saw the correction published in today's Post.

The official time was 1m38.2s.

Times can be wrong on occassion even electrically timed ones. Fremens win at Wolver over 8.6f on March 11 was nowhere near 1.51.12. You can see this just by watching the ATR video on the net. The gates open between 5.30.42 and 5.30.43. In order for the time to be correct he'd have to hit the line at 5.33.62. He barely makes it there by 5.35.00. I timed it freeze-frame start and finish and it's 1.52.58. I also timed the very next race on the card and it was perfect.....You can try this exercise yourself.
