Having missed the break which cost him the best part of 10 lengths, the horse did exceptionally well to nearly win considering that Kempton has favoured front runners even more so than normal today. Fallon accepted defeat a furlong out, he wouldn't have got there even if beat 10 bells out of the horse. I backed Afsare today and wouldnt blame Fallon, I think if the horse had broken well he would have won cosily but that's flat racing. I agree the horse was badly positioned throughout but that was a result of obviously missing the break. Unfortunately every man and his dog will be on next time when he wil probably start 4/7.

I do think Kempton is Fallon's worst track - his judgment seems to be below that of the others. I wouldn't blame him for the ride although others (especially Frankie) seem to ride Kempton far better than KF, but we have Chester coming up where I'm sure Fallon will be seen at his best.
