Lets be clear, the BHA employs dozens of experienced, vigilant and professional race-readers. 17 stipendiary stewards, the majority of whom are ex-riders themselves, do a difficult job fantastically well, picking up on interference, whip and running and riding offences on the day with a thorough, forensic eye, and performing many other tasks behind the scenes. Anyone who has ever criticised a decision should spend one afternoon with the stipes and stewards to see the volume of work they get through and their even-handedness and expertise.

You would think that most, "professional race-readers," would be on here, betting 'in-running' - instead of taking the BHA's paltry pound. |

In my experience, ex-jockeys often make the most hopeless of race readers.
After all, if they were any good at it, working for the Post as a race reader would seem a natural step after their careers end. You can literally count on the fingers of one hand those who have done that. |

The punters on this forum know much more thn any of these ex jockeys will ever know.The pre race stewards by us lads is always spot on.We see the new MASSIVE in running PLACE LAYERS that never win uk and ire despite looking very well for a place.We know like bridlingtonbygones how i would be run before the race.We see it day after day and with the recession it is happening more and more often putting of new young people into the sport.

the silly fookers do not realise that the newbies will not take long to see this sport is full of little c heat ing cu n t s and will be gone in a matter of months sorry for the foul wording but really if they cannot realise that they have to get the game straighter before trying to hook people up they will get no where |
