That is 100% what happened.

He knew by the rules that he should have straightened her but he also knew that it would have cost him any chance of winning....dont matter whether its a classic its intentionally breaking the rules

You're right, he's only doing 40mph on a horse upsides another one doing everything he can to win the race, daft decision!! Why dont these jockeys stop and think sometimes!!

He intimidates the 2nd horse but can still only win by a nostril. Francome I am afraid is wrong in this case, imo.

I thought he veered right when he pulled his horse off from the one on his left and changed whip hand to prevent interference on that side. His horse then went right instead.

You are not allowed to try and intimidate the 2nd horse in this country.
You lose the race as you've just seen. All you people saying it good race riding are obviously a bit dumb. It got thrown out.
Keeps the horse straight he probably wins.

Had he kept it in his right hand it might've hampered beaten horses on its inside but would've ended up on the rail and won.
