Listen ....... he shows a lack of grace in defeat - wears blinkers when it comes to discussing the performances of his horses and has become disappointing

Was he better than this some years ago?

I haven't compared the times but he did say they hacke dup to halfway (whatever that means) which suggests a truer run race may have suited him better. It's only Seathe Stars and Sir Percy who broke a long spell where horses that win the Guineas rarely act over 1m4. Normally Derby winners have to be conditioned over 1m2 at least 3 times. So SNA may well be a Derby horse.

Horses that sour are usually gelded to improve performance.

I suggest the same fate for O'Brien.

He quite clearly said 'take nothing away from the winner or any other horse in the race'.

Unfortunately he can't win with a large number of people who see it as punters v Ballydoyle.

The blokes class, he thought the horse would win, the times clocked behind closed doors told him this but the horse didn't win thats life, hes disappointed and interviewed a minute later.

Equally, show me a good loser and i'll show you a loser.

agree there jmc, no doubting he's a great trainer either, but he has some great ammo to start with,

good point about being a good loser too, no one likes to lose.

AOB is an amazing trainer if he wasnt he wouldnt be in the job, yes he gets some firepower but so do a lot of other trainers and they dont get GRP1's year in year out like he does. All im saying is dont ever get sucked by in by the "best we had" talk at the end of the day Ballydoyle is not only the maker of a stallion for Coolmore it is the marketing team for Coolmore aswell ;)

The stable was reported to not fancying Henry the Navigator when that won the race and this time also getting it wrong. All people can do is read the form and make up their own minds.

that was not true sparrow. cos i was at newmarket on craven day when twice over won. i was talking to an insider who was on the phone to ireland post racing an was told that henrythenavigator had flew in a gallop at ballydoyle that morning..

11 winnners from 68 runners in not anywhere near the strike rate normally expected. Tommy Stack has had 9 from 33 and John oxx 8 from 30. Last years Irishderby winner got stuffed at odds on on his return and others have dissapointed in the last week- my point is that the stable is hardly bang in form

Santa. That may well be the case but that was not what was being reported in the press and the horse was a drifter all week.

The guy 'has become' a complete and utter cnut.
Loath him.
Loath his tactics.
Loath his lack of "HONESTY".
Loath his contempt towards punters - I am not asking for one-on-one interviews just the facts about what is going on.

For the record I laid SNA yesterday - the silence from ballydoyle all year has been like thunder........... hell slap it up them.

mick ingoldersgreen , aiden is one of the most honest men in racing , the fact that sna did not win yesterday changes nothing .he said in his interview with emma that the horse had shown him the right signs on the gallops , plus last year he was the top rated 2 yo . when year after year you turn out world class horses and win group 1s sometimes in record numbers, does getting it wrong now and again make you an idiot , i dont think so , but clowns like you coming on here spouting off about something you know nothing about would i'm sure make this great trainer laugh .

Completely correct in every detail, jmc. It is the last part of your last sentence that is the issue here, in this thread, I think. Every interview with him is like listening to a political party spin-doctor or PR rep from a large company (which as you suggest is what a large part of his job is). A total lack of honesty, a total lack of transparency, ladles full of spin and bluff and bluster.

Is it any wonder that many punters have an "us vs Ballydoyle" attitude when they've expressed the same attitude in reverse for years?

A O'B should boycott the media until Ballydoyle is opened up to the public.
