A NUMBER OF POSSIBLES BELOW WITH CRITERIA BEHIND THOUGHTS. HOPE YOU FIND USEFUL. THERE ARE A NUMBER OF POSITIVES WHICH SURPRISED ME AS THE GROUND AND DISTANCE I THOUGHT WOULD CATCH MORE OUT.

PROVEN ON GROUND (GOOD TO SOFT): SPECIAL DUTY; Rumoush; DEVOTED TO YOU; PIPETTE
UNPROVEN ON GROUND (GOOD TO SOFT): SETA (although jockey seems to think it's ok); RUMOUSH (polytrack only); POLLENATOR; MUSIC SHOW; HIBAAYEB; BLUE MAIDEN; LADY DARSHAAN (but High Chaparral proven)
UNPROVEN OVER DISTANCE (1m): I've got MISHEER (Oasis Dream/All for Laura), as bred as sprinters i.e. up to 6f so distance probably won't suit. SETA (Pivotal won all his races 5-6f); PIPETTE
PROVEN DISTANCE (1m): SPECIAL DUTY; RUMOUSH (Rahy); POLLENATOR; MUSIC SHOW (Noverre); DEVOTED TO YOU (Danehill Dancer); HIBAAYEB (see Ascot) (Singspiel); BLUE MAIDEN (Medician won Group 1 over 8 and Soft);
UNPROVEN CLASS: RUMOUSH (also held by Pollenator); PIPETTE; BLUE MAIDEN; LADY DARSHAAN
PROVEN GROUP CLASS: SPECIAL DUTY; SETA; POLLEN;ATOR; MUSIC SHOW; HIBAAYEB (see Ascot);
SUMMARY POSSIBLES: SPECIAL DUTY (WIN); Rumoush; MUSIC SHOW (ground may be against but too many positives to rule her out); DEVOTED TO YOU; HIBAAYEB; BLUE MAIDEN; LADY DARSHAAN
LAY: SETA (ground); MISHEER (distance); POLLENATOR (ground); PIPETTE will like the ground but distance unclear with her sire Pivotal. Sadlers Wells though proven over distance);

Why will Pollenator not like the ground, surely it will assist her proven stamina?

:-) rumoush should be unproven on ground sorry.

I backed MAKFI :-)

OK Pollenator has done all her good work on Good to Firm and very rarely if at all will you find any horse that acts on both surfaces. I'm a bit confused about Seta and can't understand why Fallon thinks rain is good for her.

sj good question as not obvious. This race leaves a lot of uncertainties as these horses are unexposed so have to look more to breeding. Although unproven herself her breeding strongly suggests she will get a mile. (Hennessy/Quest to Peak)

My pollenator comment was more in hope than absolute fact, good work.

The way I've compiled is so that readers can decide themselves which factors should be weighted higher than others. For example if you prefer Class to Ground then that will give stronger options on some horses and rule others out. The horses not mentioned can all be hedged by the way. It's not an exact science as we know (unfortunately).

I don't think Sariska or Seta both by Pivotal will like the ground anyway.

When has Special Duty proven herself at a mile ?

You think being by Pivotal is a negative for soft ground ???

correct bolty,the doubt is the distance,not the ground

Can anyone tell me why SPECIAL DUTY is drifting so badly? I backed it ante-post at 9/2 thinking the price was massive.....horse-racing can really take the** at times

Major question mark over the trip for special duty..I cant see it staying, wish id layed it earlier, price getting too big now..

I had a very good bet on SPECIAL DUTY after he finished 3rd at Maisson la fite because I believed that he was simply there to get fitter and that connections cared little whether he won or not.I watched the race a number of times and was struck by her looks. She looked a magnificent speciman and that she would improve by 10lbs.I am convinced that her speed will simply blow them away

Special Duty should stay. Pivotal won all races over 5-6f on G to F so ground and distance may be against Seta. I don't think the ground is against her.

Her being Special Duty. I'd lay Seta but thats my opinion.

FB all these horses are unexposed. I've looked at the breeding aswell re distance.

Of course,Chipstore.
Breeding and even more importantly her action strongly suggests Seta will act on soft ground
Special Duty has plenty of speed and the more rain the less chance there is of her staying.

seta unproven on soft ground?

Pipette unproven over distance? won a 7f soft ground maiden and 8f lower grade conditions race. Pivotal's do very well on soft ground and he is a top sire of horses anywhere from 5-12 furlongs so surley she has everything going for her today?

Ground is not soft!! It is GOOD Good-Soft IN PLACES. Big difference imo.

will be soft by the time the race is off. raining there now. not drying at all.

Fair enough! I still think Music Show will win! :)
By:

When: 02 May 10 13:09
I think Music Show has a good chance. OK if you say the ground is ok for SETA I stand corrected. That must come from the dam side as Pivotal's wins all came on GF?
