Doyoun was 1988 so over 20 years - Pennekamp 11 in 1995 is the smallest in last twenty years.

9 for Doyoun and El Gran Senor (1984) were smaller in the previous decade, smallest post war was Brigadier Gerard in 1971 when just six lined up.

thanks, i prefered the smaller field guineass, didnt a stoute horse win 1000 few years ago with only5/6 in field

thinking of slip anchor, didnt cecil have another from howard de walden that won the st jamess palace shavian, i was on it at around 10/1, he was coming down in trip , i just cant recall if he ran in at epsom and didnt stay,
