I work in recruitment and find it amazing when he keeps saying " we will get people off benefits and into jobs "
Will someone explain to him that there is no jobs out there and there won't be any out there soon .

Blame our troubles on the Unions, they are a major contributor to the problems we face.
please explain how the unions were responsible for the meltdown in the investment banking industry ... the recession was not the responsibility of the Tories but the result of fundamental flaws in the investment banking sector which traditionally is overwhelming Conservative.
Deeppockets since the end of the 2nd World war the power of the unions and the left wingers who have run them have slowly choked this country to its near death. Iam all for the working man but trade union leaders of all ilks have imo taken their members for a ride.

1stpost you're wrong about Churchill. It was Churchill as Home Secretary in the pre WW1 Liberal Government that introduced many of the welfare benefits paid today, including pensions.

1st post who are you insulting ,foryour info I lived throught the blitz had 3 brothers and 3 brotherr in laws serving in the armed forces one losing his life nI have been working class all my life and will say till the day I die that that the unions have abused their power and in doing so have helped bring this great country to the state it is now .

I have to agree about the unions. When I started work all you heard was how much they earned in the car factories. Eventually the unions brought them to their kness with 'time & motion' and now they are owned by the Japamese and Germans and everyone works flat out. I worked in a car factory for 4 years and we were out on strike at the drop of a hat and only worked about 3 hours a day. Could not last.

^ rubbish,made redundant 4 weeks ago and have applied for 8 jobs,only one has had the decency to see me for a interview.
one post and during my 1 hour there were several others waiting for a interview,even got long waiting lists for asda,morrisons etc.
if there were jobs out there I would be working.

It is extremely ironic that the Tories are going to win this election and be forced to sort out the mess caused by the City which, given the cuts and taxes that are inevitable, will mean the are out of office again for 15 years after this parliament.
Alteratively if there is a hung parliament and the Lib Dems join with Labour and it runs into the inevitable clash of personalities and policies there will be another election in less than 12 months and then they will both be in the wilderness for decades.

Lib Dems say they will not do a deal with Labour if they finish third in the popular vote but have the second largest number of MP's to emphsise the unfairness of the first past the post voting system ... could see a Lib Dem/Con coalition lasting for about 12 months until they were forced to do something about electoral reform ... (The Conservatives voting for PR would be like turkeys voting for Christmas) ... then it would fall apat in acrimony and Cameron would call another election
Who needs to work when there is limitless free munny to be made here? :)
