Five times to day a bet I have left in running has only part been taken ...despite trading at much shorter odds ...anyone else....

I don't think Gruss is to blame. I take it you placed them as keep bets before the race started? Once the bets are placed they are exactly the same as if you had placed them via the website. Betting Assistant does not have anything to do with Betfair's bet matching process. You should take it up with Betfair.
