"If I'm trying to compete with my fractional colleagues, it's a no-brainer. They will wipe the floor with me every time. It's a failure and I wouldn't do it again."
Its all about perception, offering 3.5 for a 7/2 shot when 4.5 is much more customer friendly would have been the way to go if you had wanted the experiment to work. And if you really wanted to compete against your colleagues you could have tried going 4.6 and seeing how this affected your business.

this is about selling a product, and makeing the packaging as attractive as possible the racecourse played their part.As well as enjoying free entry and a free racecard, racegoers who took up Ascot's offer also received free tea and coffee throughout the day, plus reduced-price food.

as i predicted decimal odds will confuse the casual racegoer.remember even the once a year g national punters are used to fractional odds.
also to put the decimal odds shown without the stake ie. as a factor was asking for trouble.
don't try to mend what aint broken.
